Task-focused resource comparison

10 Services for Order-Book and Execution Research

For depth research, distinguish actual level data from order documentation and a spreadsheet calculation. Useful evidence specifies level units, the snapshot time and how an order behaves when the visible size is insufficient.

Start with the task: See the average price and remaining size implied by a supplied order-book snapshot.

Five questions to compare

Criterion 1

Level prices and quantity units

Confirm that level quantity is base amount. Some derivative APIs report contract size in a different denomination.

Criterion 2

Snapshot timing

A book is a snapshot. Keep its time and source; do not combine stale bids with current asks.

Criterion 3

Partial depth coverage

Check how much depth is present. A result from ten levels cannot imply unlimited liquidity beyond the tenth level.

Criterion 4

Market-order behavior

Order-type documentation explains behavior, but a market-order mechanism does not guarantee the calculated snapshot VWAP.

Criterion 5

Developer reference versus worksheet

A developer schema describes fields. A worksheet consumes supplied values. Account access, live feeds and execution are separate functions.

10 resources considered against level quantities, snapshot timing and visible depth shortfall
Resource and roleDocumented functionEditorial use for this taskBoundary and official source
1. Crypto Trading Signals

Promoted Telegram offer

Spot and futures market signals, trade setups and market updates.

Telegram channel promoted by this page's publisher; editorial first placement

The separate worksheet on this site handles level quantities, snapshot timing and visible depth shortfall. The Telegram channel offers optional market ideas and context. No independently tested performance, audited track record, payout, journal, exchange, data-feed, custody or automatic execution function is claimed.

Existing channel offer

2. Kraken

Exchange documentation and records

Separate trade, ledger and balance records.Use venue data or records to establish the snapshot and units; this worksheet consumes only the levels supplied.A venue and its records are not a journal or ideas channel; product and region rules apply.

3. Coinbase Advanced

Exchange order documentation

Market, limit, stop-limit and partial-fill mechanisms.Order documentation helps distinguish conditions from execution. Review level quantities, snapshot timing and visible depth shortfall against the supplied records; the documentation does not certify this file's result.Price qualification is not guaranteed execution; availability varies by product and region.

4. Binance

Exchange developer documentation

Official symbol-filter and trading-data schemas.Read the exact symbol or instrument schema when checking level quantities, snapshot timing and visible depth shortfall. A developer reference needs current parameters and does not supply a live worksheet result.Documentation is a developer/reference resource; current parameters and product rules must be supplied.

5. OKX

Exchange developer documentation

Instrument, order-book and candle schemas.Read the exact symbol or instrument schema when checking level quantities, snapshot timing and visible depth shortfall. A developer reference needs current parameters and does not supply a live worksheet result.Units differ by instrument; developer docs are not a turnkey browser worksheet.

6. Bybit

Exchange contract documentation

Inverse P&L and settlement-coin explanation.Use payout and contract-unit explanations to check level quantities, snapshot timing and visible depth shortfall. Do not carry one contract type's units into a different instrument.Current product eligibility and specifications must be checked; no profit or liquidity ranking.

7. BitMEX

Exchange contract documentation

Inverse, linear and quanto payout specifications.Use payout and contract-unit explanations to check level quantities, snapshot timing and visible depth shortfall. Do not carry one contract type's units into a different instrument.Use the exact contract type and multiplier; different payouts are not interchangeable.

8. Microsoft Excel

Spreadsheet software

Own CSV tables and formulas with explicit import settings.Use consumed quantity times level price, divide by total consumed quantity, and retain any unfilled remainder.Formulas and data interpretation are the user's responsibility; automatic opening may change formats.

9. Google Sheets

Cloud spreadsheet software

CSV ingestion into an own spreadsheet.Use consumed quantity times level price, divide by total consumed quantity, and retain any unfilled remainder.Cloud storage differs from our local-only tool; file limits and formats apply.

10. CCXT

Developer library and schema reference

Unified market-data/record schemas and documented OHLCV limitations.Use the documented schemas as a developer reference when checking level quantities, snapshot timing and visible depth shortfall. Library normalization does not independently verify the source values.Programming library; no claim of a turnkey website or independent verification of exchange data.

Put the comparison to work

Paste positive price and base-quantity levels in execution order: ascending asks for a buy, descending bids for a sell. Prices must be distinct. Identify the snapshot source and time, and convert derivative contract counts to base units before using this schema.

A hypothetical buy of 5 base units meets 3 units offered at 100 USD and 4 at 101 USD. It consumes 3 at 100 and 2 at 101, spending 502 USD at a VWAP of 100.4. That is 40 basis points above the best level. Asking for 8 units would leave 1 unit beyond the supplied 7-unit depth.

Open Order Book Depth and VWAP Calculator

VWAP applies only to the portion consumed from this snapshot. The best-level difference measures the movement through these supplied levels, not an independently tested execution-quality score. A changing book, latency or venue rules can produce a different live outcome.
